Besides the recognised top-of-the-range education in Economics, the Faculty of Economics provided me with an opportunity to develop and increase my leader’s capacity and master skills in professional communication and public speaking.
Only many years after the graduation ceremony and defence of my PhD thesis at the Faculty of Economics did I understood that I had got a unique opportunity of a head start for my career with highly professional wonderful lecturers and like-minded people. Studying and communicating with professors and students gave me a clear understanding that nothing is impossible, as each of us is responsible for creating their own future.
I am very proud of having graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. I am the third generation economist in our family; therefore I had no doubt at choosing my specialism and the faculty. When I started my career, I realized that I had an obvious competitive advantage as compared to other contenders for the reason that my university had developed my systems of thinking and analytical skills and trained to make right decisions based on information from various sources. I did my degree in Economic Theory and I really appreciate my professors. I am happy that I had graduated from this specialism since the multi-functional knowledge I got made me a competitive candidate at the job market.
I’m really grateful to the Faculty of Economics, to all the teachers and staff. Only over time, we start appreciating the knowledge and experience gained in its walls. They gave me a solid foundation that helped me in my further development. The faculty provided me with the opportunity to do research as I wrote and defended my PhD thesis; being a member of Student Research Society I gained experience in organizing various events; here I had a chance to teach my favorite subject and it’s where I met a huge number of smart, talented, and extraordinary people. Faculty of Economics has become a true Alma Mater for me and many of its graduates.
For me, the Faculty of Economics is a symbol of an exciting journey throughout most of my life. This journey has been full of challenges, and overcoming them was life-changing – entering the university, graduating with honors, defending my PhD thesis, transferring my knowledge and experience to the students. All these challenges now define who I am, they helped develop my systemic and critical thinking, enriched me knowledge and skills, gave me a head start for professional development and building a career. And the most valuable part of this journey is meeting the incredible people who have become my best friends, mentors and trusted partners.
Faculty of Economics opened a lot of career opportunities for me and, most importantly, gave me a chance to develop professionally on the international job market. I am grateful to all the faculty and especially to the teaching team of the Department of Accounting and Audit for an excellent mix of theory and practice, development of critical thinking skills and deep knowledge of accounting, analysis and controlling. The Bachelor degree I gained at the Faculty of Economics allowed me to enter a Master’s programme in Europe and widen my expertise in economic policy making. Moreover, while studying at the Faculty of Economics I was lucky to meet great people and stay good friends with them after the graduation
