Biography

Maria J. Espona, Biologist (1994), Master en Terrorism Studies (2013) and currently doing PhD studies on biological weapons and epidemiology at the UGR, in Spain. She is working as technical advisor on export control of dual use goods and technologies for the EU. Currently is the leader of the following projects: TI CBRN Export Control on Dual-Use Materials and Intangible Technologies in Central Asia (ISTC) and CBRN Export Control on Dual-Use Materials and Intangible Technologies in GUAM Countries (STCU). In 2009, she started with Eduardo Gauna, the Information Quality Program in Argentina (ArgIQ). She is founder member and Vice-president of the Iberoamerican Association for Information Quality. She received in 2010 the Leadership Award from the MIT IQ Program and in 2011 the second MIT IQ award due to the Outstanding Contribution to the field among other awards.
