Education & Workforce Future

The panel will focus on the relationship between demographic change, the transformation of higher education, and the future of Ukraine’s workforce. Against the backdrop of a declining youth population, migration, and growing competition for skilled professionals, the capacity of the education system to provide the economy with qualified specialists is becoming increasingly important. The discussion will explore how demographic challenges affect universities, the accessibility and quality of educational services, and young people’s choices of professions that are essential for economic development.
Particular attention will be paid to economic education and its role in building human capital: the alignment of educational programmes with labour market needs, the quality of training of economists, financiers and managers, cooperation between universities and employers, and the ability of higher education institutions to retain and develop young professionals in Ukraine. The discussion will bring together representatives of universities, business, government and expert communities to consider what economic education should look like to meet the needs of the Ukrainian economy today and strengthen its workforce potential in the future.
